My journey with calligraphy was never the result of a single decision. It began long before I understood what art truly meant. As a child, I was fascinated not simply by letters, but by their rhythm, their balance, and the silent beauty hidden within every curve. To me, every letter possessed a personality of its own.
Growing up in Iraq—one of the world's greatest homes of Arabic calligraphy—I immersed myself in the classical traditions of this timeless art. I devoted myself to studying its principles, schools, and philosophies, discovering that true calligraphy is far more than beautiful handwriting. It is discipline, patience, proportion, and an endless pursuit of perfection.
Everything changed in 2002, when I moved to Dubai.
That move became the turning point of my artistic life. Surrounded by international libraries, rare references, and a vibrant multicultural environment, my perspective expanded beyond borders. Alongside my continuing exploration of Arabic calligraphy, I immersed myself in the rich heritage of classical Latin scripts, studying their history, structure, and elegance. Gradually, I came to realize that regardless of language or alphabet, every great script shares the same universal pursuit of beauty.
Since 2010, calligraphy has become my full-time profession and lifelong vocation. What began as childhood fascination evolved into a career dedicated entirely to creating meaningful artistic experiences through the written word.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with internationally renowned luxury houses, prestigious brands, and distinguished clients, creating bespoke calligraphy experiences where tradition meets contemporary luxury. My work bridges the heritage of Arabic calligraphy with the refinement of classical Latin lettering, allowing two artistic worlds to converse through a single creative vision.
More than three decades into this journey, I still approach every blank page with the same curiosity that inspired me as a child. I remain convinced that the perfect letter has yet to be written, and that the true artist never stops learning.
For me, calligraphy is not merely an art form—it is a lifelong dialogue between history and innovation, between craftsmanship and emotion, and between culture and identity.
Every piece I create today carries the story of a child who fell in love with letters... and never stopped chasing their beauty.
